Welcome to Glemand West Highland White Terriers
We have had the beautiful West Highland White Terriers since March 2008. I (that is Glenn) had bred and showed pure bred dogs under the GLEMAND prefix since early 1970. In 1976 I decided to pursue interests in obedience training and became a full panel obedience judge.
I met Sigrid and the two of us decided to take up dairy farming in 1990 but unfortunately there was not enough time to continue with the dogs. After retiring from the dairy scene, Sigrid wanted to have an interest in a breed of dog that we both loved and enjoyed.
Westies was the mutual choice. They are a wonderful breed with a great personality, bright and friendly, full of energy, an excellent family dog that is good with kids. Initially, we started with two lovely girls, Bessie and Bonnie and a lovely young male, Benji. He was shown to Australian Champion and is now retired and living with a loving family on a country property.
During our journey we imported Casanova from Germany, incorporating "Cruft's" winning bloodline in our breeding. His blood is still infused in our lines today.
The two of us have had a wonderful experience with the breeding, showing and development of these delightful little dogs.
We have bred and shown to Australian Champion status—nine dogs in total. During our time to date, we have gathered an enormous knowledge of the breed, ranging from start (breeding) to finish: grooming, showing, feeding, health, etc.
Glenn has been involved with the West Highland White Terrier Club for over 10 years as a committee person, President, Vice President and Treasurer.
We are located in Moe, Victoria and are active exhibitors, breeding for quality, temperament and type. Puppies are born and raised in the home to provide loving and outgoing natures.
New owner to be to our puppies are asked to attend our info session before entry to our "Wait List". See more on our Puppies page.
